Anyone installed a CAI for 2006 Honda Civic Sport? If so, what brand/model and what do you think of it in terms of any performance increase or just a loud noise.

Looking to get one of these installed.
Injen SP1578P X-1014-BR Cold Air Intake W/ MR Technology for Sport model. Anyone have one of these?

Can anyone tell me if water could get in behind the fenderwall? I think this is where the pod filter sits, behind the fenderwall where the stock air vent intake is. Correct me if im wrong. I dont plan on driving it underwater, but in the normal rain conditions we get in Australia (Melbourne). Or should i get some sort of accessories to help protect the pod filter?

I doubt very much any water would get that far up........unless your in 1m deep floods.

Kit looks nice..........MMmmMMm k20's make awesome intake sounds.....even for a watered down K20 like ours, I'm sure.

How much is it?

Other than floods, water will not hit the pod from splashes, going over pot holes etc? I think its going for around $350-$400. I havent really looked. Only been researching on whether it will get wet and how it performs.

Shimian

Yes its for the SI model, but ive been reading some forums and they say it will fit. Can anyone confirm? Or can anyone suggest any other brands of CAI that fits the Australian model Civic Sport?

It'll suck in hot air and you will only get the sound of an SRI but no performance gain.

I looked under the bonnet and noticed 2 big fans at where the front air vent is located. Will the air produced from these fans be enough to give cold air to the intake? Or does it still blow hot air once it comes into the bonnet. Assuming I put the pod filter right next to it.

Trying to figure out where the pod will end up and see if theres any chance of hydrolocking. Ofcourse this excludes driving into floods

One fan runs for the A/C, the other runs for the radiator. A/C fan runs when your compressor is running (to cool the hot aircon gas), and the radiator fan runs when your coolant temperature exceeds 85-90 C (guessing, but it's around there). So the air being blown in by the fans is still much hotter than the air outside.

ok, i guess thats not a good place to put the pod filter. Im getting many mixed responses here. Some people say thats a good place to put the pod filter since the air comes right in when ur driving. This is doing my head in

The best is air that does not have to go past radiators. That's why CAIs that have the filter in the bumper cavity get good peak gains while SRI doesn't show as much gains (except when on a dyno because the bonnet is left open to allow cold air in)

The Injen CAI should sit in the bumper cavity but you MUST check that it fits the k20z2. The Injen was designed for the k20z3.

you will need to find parts that are made for the american Acura CSX...
they are the exact same model as our australian civic sedan

does injen have one?

Tofu

think injen only has a cai for the Civic Si...
i know for the RSX, there are two different models because the throttle body on the TypeS (k20a2) is aimed upwards...where as the base model (k20a3) is horizontal...

if it's the same case here (not sure of any other variables) then I would say the Injen CAI for the Civic Si might fit our 8th Gen Civic sedan.

hmmm thanks tofu... i kno that they sed they only have SRI for the 8th gen. then again will any CAI fit Auto car?

Tofu

it depends where the transmission is and how it's positioned...
again with the RSX, they made an auto and manual version for the CAI for the base model DC5, because there's less space in an auto dc5.
you will need to look at the difference between a Civic Si and how the injen cai fits in that and make an educated guess if it will fit our 8th gen or not.
there's installation manuals on Injen's website which is very helpful, with pictures and all.
see how it compares to your car.

Thanks again matey... Injen and Fujita is practically the same rite? Coz in Fujita website (www.f5air.com) it says the CAI is for Manual only T-T
