ignition contacts?

hey all, im having problems with my ignition and its hard to explain, so bear wif me.

usually when the car is switched to 'on', the lights on the dashboard come on.. but mine don't anymore. they come on a few mm's towards the right. So when i start my car, and let the key go, it falls back to the 'on' but there is no power tere, so my car shuts off. only way the car is staying on now is if i turn the key to start and instead of letting the key go, i have to manually hold the key in place where there is power! :x

i heard its something to do with my ignition contacts?
anyone have this prob??

Iv seen it before, you may need to replace your ignition switch,

I sugeest A continuity test first

yeah.. went to hannys and replaced all the wiring behind the ignition.

apprently it was really dirty, you can just open it up and clean it.
but robert saw one of the wires were getting burnt aswell, so suggested that i got a another one. top bloke. :thumbsup:
