Hey chaps - seems to be a new stainless steel header on the market sold on ebay locally. I am not endorsing or promoting this product so it is definately a case of buyer beware.

Of interest is the design of the header. Note the 4 to 1 configuration rather than the typical 4-2-1 you see on most headers for the CL9 and CL7. Seller claims some 15-18 extra horsepower which sounds like bollocks. Note the seller has a similar system for the Mitsubishi Lancer and they conveniently claim 15-18 extra horsepower for that car too!! lol

If anyone does try this please make sure you let us know how you find it because it is always good to hear experiences on new items.

Comment away....

normally a 4-1 header makes use of longer primaries for high end power (or so i thought)... this looks like a stainless steel version of the stock header.

I don't know enough about the technical benefits of either - just noting the difference in design. This guy seems to suggest 4-1 is better but hey it is ebay..

***

A 4-2-1 long manifold causes torque loss in engines due to insufficient re-pressurizing and large pipe diameters; and cracks easily due to having too many connections.

strange he wuold say that when the majority of street orientated headers for the k20/k24 are 4-2-1

I'd be interested to see how it goes if someone tried it out, but i wouldn't personally

I don't think I have seen any other 4-1 aftermarket headers for the CL9? Can you think of any Chris?

Like Chris said, looks like a modified version of the stock manifold..

But the length and diameter of the primary do suggest that it provides a mid range torque pull.. Longer primaries help provide torque at the lower end of the powerband..

For the 600 dollar asking price, I'd get the DCSports or pay abit more for the CompTech....

come to think of it... no

Though there are some much more agressive 4-2-1 designs with really long primaries being made in the states, there was a post on acurazine about them a while ago

4-1 seems to be to short for a high end ability of k24a? how big is the diameter of the pipe? compare to the stock one?
