hey guys,
Just trying to figure out what's up with my clutch.
When i'm taking my foot of the clutch it makes a metal on metal click sound. Just one click. If i take my foot off the clutch slowly you can't here it but if i dump the clutch (with the car off) it makes a click sound.
It does it when the car is off or on, and when its cold and warm. In other words it happens all the time, but only when I take my foot of the clutch quickly.
I think it might be something to do with the release fork.
Thanks for the help.
Jase
PS The clutch and flywheel are stock and i can also feel the click in the pedal.

Its could be the clutch master cylinder needing a grease up.
Get some silicon grease from an Auto shop such as AutoOne or SuperCheap, and follow the clutch pedal up to the small cylinder, push the clutch pedal in a bit, and spray inside the cylinder for a second.
Here's a pic of the Euro's one, but the EG should be similar:

Yeah thats what i thought except the noise is definately coming from the clutch/flywheel area.
I stuck my head in the foot well and depressed the clutch with my hand and i could hear the click but it wasn't coming from the MC. Definately from the engine bay.
Is there anyway to lube the release fork without taking the gearbox off?

If it was the pressure plate would it make a constant click click clik sound until the clutch was fully engaged???

Here's my experiences with a similar problem, might shed some light on your problem man.
I have creaking and clicking in my clutch pedal aswell. Mostly happens at the bottom of the travel and if you push it in really slow when the car is warm (driven 30 minutes plus) the creak turns into a slightly metallic sound click.
I originally thought it was the master cylinder, checked that out at honda and it was found not to be the problem.
I then thought it may be the slave cylinder as thats where the noise seems to come from with the hood up but because i can feel the creak through the pedal, it mightn't be that either and it's already been lubed in an attempt to fix the problem.
My next guess is that it could be a faulty or inadequately greased throw out bearing - which was recently replaced when i had my clutch upgraded.
Does the feel of your clutch engaging ever change? The warmer my car gets the less 'positive' the engagement feels (a bit spongey/creaky/soft compared to normal).
If the problem continues to get worse i dont think ill have an option but to have the box opened up again and checked for any problems.. the bad thing is there's a lot of things it could be so if you have to do a simialr thing the car might be off the road for a while.
good luck solving yours - try lubing stuff up first i guess

Hey chris,
Thanks for that info. The sound has actually disappeared now. I drove the car to work this morning and it was fine. Maybe something found its way into the bell housing and has now found its way out.
I'll keep my eyes on it and let you guys know if i found out what the problem was and how i fixed it.
Thanks again.

I have a similar problem. When my clutch is dis-engaged my gearbox makes a tick-tick-tick noise non stop and asoon as you push the clutch in the noise goes away from the gearbox...
Im told this is either the release bearing or main bearing... Also when accelerating at low revs ( In 1st or 2nd for example) the gearbox is very whiny almost sounding like there's not enough oil in the gearbox it sounds dry.. The box has quiet a few kms on it and im sure the clutch is on its way out also..

Andrew21: I think you need to change your tranny fluid. have you tried that?

Will be doing this week, i was told it had just been changed when i bought the car ( 8months ago) and the noise was already there... but i dont know if that was bullshit or not ...
But i will be changing oil this week...

^^Sounds like your input bearing is stuffed.
