doesnt you oil filter filter out small shaving?
It wont do n e thing bad, but i dont see benifits. But if u need a new sump plug, go for it

i've got the spoon ones. They pickup bits of metal filings that spit thru the engine. That one's cheaps cos the spoon ones set me back $50 for a pair.
I've actually seen it work with mine, what's $7 for abit more piece of mind

The filter won't get metal filings from everything. It's just going to get the big pieces. Some really small ones with still get through.

I have been using a cheapy $10 one and it does grab tiny particles but only a VERY small amount.

That's a good thing. If you start getting a whole lot it means two thing, your filter is bad and the motor is having issues. Somewhere something is breaking down.
