Hi,

I'm having problem with my car. The problem is, during hot days, when the cooling fan shut off the RPM will drop as low as 500 and sometimes up to the point where the engine would stall, then will gradually goes up again to normal RPM.

By the way, I am wondering whether the air conditioning fan and radiator fan should run at the same time, because mine turn on and off at the same time.

Anyone have any ideas?

Thank you.

When the fans come on they draw power from the electrical system. This causes the Alternator to work a little harder thus raising the rpms a little. When it turns off though it should return to stock idle, 500-800 rpm depending on your car. If it is stalling you need to check the timing to make sure it is set right. As for the two fans coming on at once, they are supposed to. It's normal.

Probably due to the aircon draining some extra power....if it drops and returns to idle i wouldn't worry about it.

If the A/C if Off when it happens, then it could indicate that the air intake system is slightly clogged, requiring a clean.

Clean the throttle body including the idle bypass piping. http://www.ozhonda.com/forum/showthread.php?t=35488
Also give the IACV filter a clean. http://www.ozhonda.com/forum/showthread.php?t=4693
