When an air conditioner cools the air, it condenses a lot of the humidity in the air into water. The water drips down and onto the road.

Some new Air Conditioners re-route this cool water back onto the hot coils and evaporate, taking more heat with it, but I doubt the Civic's A/C does this - hence all the water wastage. This re-routing system is usually used in Home and Office A/C units.
