Anyone with a 03-05 Euro Luxury,

Could you confirm if the heated seat buttons on the center console light up when you turn on the headlights.

Note: im not talking about the little orange lights that come on when you turn the heaters on hi or low, im talking about the actual button backlight so you can see it at night.

My drivers one is lit, but the passenger one is not.

I know the 06 model lights up as i checked one at a dealer, but honda service seem to think 03-05 does not.

Both of them are light up when you turn on the headlight. I think you passenger button light is dead, it happened to mine as well.

thats what i thought but they said there is no socket in the passenger button to put a bulb, i havent had the chance to pull that console section apart and have a look for myself.

Atjo, if your right im going to spew, because i got them to check it twice and if they got it wrong twice they are just wasting my time.

na there is no light on them for the earlie onces, thing they put the bulb in on the passenges side in the "06" model onwards,if you realy wanted to you could get an "06" a switch

03-05 has bulbs in the switch. And the switch for the driver's and passenger's side are the same.

The service manual mentions that it has 2 bulbs in each switch as well as well.

nah there's bulbs for the 03 models cause i have em as well

the bulbs are like special onces that u screw in... so u should see three distinct plastic screws and they're your bulbs ur looking for

both of mines are out of order but i cant be stuffed to replace em

Ok... so judging by the response... more than likely there is a bulb. I rang Honda service and they said theres a bulb ($10.90) and he made a comment that they seem to blow quite often as they have plenty in stock.... $10 for a tiny bulb is a bit rich.

I think 05 had lit steering wheel controls too.

That's right. I have an MY05 (build date Nov 04) and the steering wheel buttons are illuminated with the dash lights. My dealer told me it was one of the few running changes for the 05 model.

Heated car seats 'reduce fertility'
DPA, September 22, 2008

Heated car seats reduce fertility in men, according to German researchers.

Heated car seats reduce fertility in men, according to German researchers.

The researchers at the University of Giessen have discovered that just one hour of sitting in a heated car seat can cause a testicular temperature spike of up to 39.7 Celsius.

That is four or five degrees Celsius higher than the optimum temperature for healthy sperm production, which is around two degrees below the body's core temperature of 37 C, according to the findings reported in New Scientist magazine.

The German researchers attached heat sensors to the testicles of 30 healthy volunteers, who then sat on heated car seats for a total of 90 minutes.

After one hour, the test revealed the average testicular temperature to be 37.3 C, which is around two degrees above optimum for sperm production, while one test subject experienced a 60 minute flush of 39.7C.

In terms of the rate of testicle warmth attributed to men who do not use heated car seat technology, the study revealed average scrotal temperature to be 36.7 C.

According to study leader, Andreas Jung and his university team, only a slight increase in testicle temperature - as shown by the research figures - is enough to have a potentially detrimental effect on healthy sperm production.

Study shows increased temperature, which reduces sperm production. But that is not permanent. It doesn't mean you can never have kids.

Funny how everyone's is going at the same time! Both passenger and Driver went for me (2005 Lux, and YES they DO light up!) but the passenger one started to work again and the Driver one is still busted. Had it serviced a couple of days ago and Honda said they'll give me a call when the parts come in to replace them for me cos they said it was a rare thing haha

my passenger side went totally bust, and driver side was going on and off when i switched it up and down.
its little things that makes it annoying... just pulled both the bulbs out and threw it away... the bulbs were so small, i dont know how the mechanics would be able to fit them back on.

^ did you have to force it in? or did it fit without any issues?

EuRo[69]
24-08-2012, 02:38 PM
yes i did force it but it still wont light up cos it was to tall, so what i did it twist the wire out a bit to make it contact .. but these one on ebay will work because it shorter

Hi, sorry to bring up an old thread but I have the same issue with the leather seat button not lighting up, I've got the required bulb from Honda but not really sure where to start with replacing it, can anyone point me in the right direction please? Thank you!
