haven been posting for a while... and b4 i want to spend $ on things like this... i want to know how many EK sedans have done engine conversion?? b16 B18 b20??

seems like not many ppl doing engine con. on the EK sedans... so if i do go ahead it would be more...um... lets say rare...

i m just thinking small atm... looking for maybe a b16a2 or something...
its not quick... but shall do compare to most average EK sedans...

so any EK sedan here has done it?

I know there is one or two out there.

If you are going to the effort of a conversion, its probably worth going to a b18?

I agree, the prices are very close if you look good enough. And the power difference is enormous. The b18 offers so much more torque then the b16. Thats my 2cents.

i was heading down that road around 3 years ago and realised that it was an absolute waste of money so i sold my car to my sister, went overseas with the money i earnt for my transplant, came back and then bought a slower, heavier car. what an upgrade in performance eh? but its nice and luxurious. hehe

See, so you were better staying with the ek in the first place :p. Better than the volvo :D.

wouldnt the cost of engine conversion for a EK sedan be the same as doing it in a coupe/hatch etc..? its all in the front end.

best to find a half cut as that should have most of the parts you will need.. but usual extra things required (depending on what and condition of the cut) are driveshalfts, shiftlinkage, brakes, seals, belts, fluids, engine mounts, clutch

Honestly mate forget the engine conversion. Its a waste of money. If you want a car with a B16a buy a VTI-R civic or a Crx.

I have an EK sedan (D16Y4) and I've thought about doing an engine conversion but at the end of the day i agree with c3024534 (you need some letters in ur name dude lol) - IMO I don't think it's worth all the trouble.

By the time you do it you'll be happy for a while, but won't take long before you want something more - human nature really - and who's going to buy the car off you one day? I wouldn't. Save for something better, with a good foundation and you'll be more happy in the long run
