ive always used 4L and a bit, and it it seems spot on.

the s2000 does eat a fair bit of oil, so i check on the oil levels every now and then just to be sure.

Did you give it 20 minutes to drain down into the sump from the head?

Also, the bad sound from your engine (sounds like a diesel), is a problem with the chain tensioner. Get it replaced.

i flush the engine for 15mins and drain it for bout 10mins.

the sounds is bad when i have my air con on.

do you get the diesel sound on hot starts?

if so thats the auto chain tensioner. $200 from honda and you can replace it at home DIY

if you're running low on oil consistantly then its your driving style or the engine

mine's doing 3000km since my 40km service and i vtec around once per drive. i get 420km a tank there abouts and my oil is just on the maximum level.

hope you can use that as a guide

let the oil settle. and also make sure your dipstick goes all the way in. and let it sit for a second and try

5L shouldn't be below the max indicator
