Hey All,
Does anyone know how much to tighten the nut that holds the hub onto the driveshaft of a DA9 Integra? Can't find anything on Google :)
Cheers

Driveshaft in a DA9, its not visable because its inside the bell housing.. hmm..
Use a rachet, and tighten slowly, when the nut becomes firm, turn 1 and a half extra turns... DO NOT over tighten!

OK, this is the nut that holds the brakes and bearings in right? so bit more than firm and then bash the nut in with a screwdriver to hold it in place. Thanks, I couldnt remember how tight, a friends Cosworth Sierra uses 400Nm or something crazy to hold it on, Cheers Chris

Firstly, by overtightening the bolt , you run the risk of snapping the bolt. If your not to sure on how to tighten use a torque wrench, these are very handy when working on the head on engines or anything crucial, and it precicely sets the force required.

Good luck snapping the "bolt" which is the end of the drive-shaft. Just torque it down tight, find the manual online if u need to know the real specs. It's not like it's going anywhere or going to do anything bad if it comes loose.

OK, its the nut (about 32mm socket needed) that goes on the end of the drive shaft, which i discovered tonight that you need a gorilla to undo it.. so I guess that answers my question of how tight it needs to be, tomorrow i need to get hold of an impact driver so that I can undo the passenger side one, with a 110KG person bouncing up and down on a long bar attached to my socket, it wouldnt budge, bugger, but anyways at least by tomorrow will have 282mm slotted brakes and type-r calipers woohoo! I got dirty and enjoyed it! Thanks for all the info everyone. Chris

Did you forget to unpress the little tab? There's something seriously wrong if a meataxe of a man with a long breaker pole can't unbreak it. The first time doing mine I did it with my favourite breaker, torquey-mc-lots which is only about a metre long.
No, it doesn't hold anything in. It loads the bearing a little bit, but certainly doesn't hold anything on or in. The brakes are bolted onto the knuckle, and the bearing is pressed in.

Hey Everyone, Thanks for the help, I have the big brkaes on and am happy with the result, only downside is I need a 1inch master cylinder now, it stops fine, just not as good pedal feel. 185Nm is in the Honda PDF of the factory manual. Now to sort out my rear strut problem, see my other post GRRRR!
