Hey does anyone elses 4ws not work all the time? HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!! i think i could hear you all say yes from here! It shouldn't be too hard to remove it completely should it? Then to make a nice solid rear end, what would you replace it with? Is the track wider than an integra or accord or sumfin? Maybe you could use the rear suspension setup from one of those?

if you realy want to remove it then use bits from a S prelude as they dont have 4WS

have you tried to fix it ???

if it works sometimes and not other times sounds like its the 4WS ECU

im also in the same boat.

i was thinking about removing the 4ws completely. because when the 4ws is not working , the rear wheels are set straight ahead, but i think under load they still move about a bit, which would be dangerous when going hard on track and especially mountain runs ... :S

what parts would be needed ?

rear cross member and tie arms

rest is all the same

so the hubs etc are the same ?

would it be expensive for the rear cross member and tie arms? and how difficult to swap over .. ?

thx

hubs are the same.

I wouldnt think it would be that hard. Iv never done it.

the sub frame might be the same but I cant confirm.

i checked with a wreckers they didn't have any but they are available. gotta do the whole cross member but looks pretty simple. yeah i went around a corner on new south head road once and ended up with shopping trolley rear wheels had to actually come to complete stop before the rear wheels were under control again. lucky no traffic or obstacles!

You should try and find someone adventurous with an S, I'm sure there's people who'd happily swap there bits for the 4ws parts. Something tells me it wouldn't work with their steering system but don't tell them that part ;)

JDM BB4 Si-VTEC = no 4ws

these are slightly more common than the S

theres plenty of S's in the wreckers, i know of at least 3 or 4 in melbourne alone, at just one particular wrecker. Just get the rear subframe as well. Think of all that weight your removing, ever felt the weight of a 4WS computer? effing heavy!

I'd love to know how all this turned out man, coz this is the main reason i dont have a 3gen. 4ws+droped hard core on 19's = bad thing's

Yeah but i bet the tyres scape the grades tho, i've got a 2gen droped hard, and i know if it had 4ws it would scape for shore, and i've only got 205/50/15 on it, they just clear's by about 4mm.
