Hey i'd like to ask you exhaust professionals out there a question about my exhaust

I'm drivin a D17A2 EU3 Civic and i've put on a 2" exhaust piping to a straight through muffler, initially i didnt put a resonator and after driving around in it i felt as though it was too loud, so then I decided to put on a resonator, it improved the sound, but it didn't accellerate as nice as when it didnt have the resonator damnit! So now i wish I hadn't put on that resonator.

I want that extra bit of performance that the resonator took away,

So here's my question for yas, If i changed my 2" piping to 2.25" piping and kept the resonator on, would it add a bit more performance back to my car? or would it still restrict airflow and wouldnt make any difference if I had 2" or 2.25".

Second option I'd have is to take out the 2" piping and resonator completely and whack on 2.25" piping straight through to my muffler and put up with the noise :). Would it be a lower tone with a 2.25 compared to 2"?

Oh and the reason why i decide to get a 2.25" pipe is because im planning to upgrade my header in future.

Your opinion is appreciated guys thanks :)

if u put a straight pipe with out a resinator on 2 1/4 its gonna be raspy and loud with only a low tone up to 2000 rpm.

well if i changed the piping and kept the resonator would it have better results than the original 2" piping?

change the piping to 2 1/4 and keep the resinator to have a deep low tone

change the pipe to 2 1/4 and put in a resonator,
if thats still 2 loud put in a second resonator

hmm other than the noise, would the result be more improved flow from the extra 1/4 inch meaning better performance than 2"?

It will improve flow but not enough to measure a gain in perfromance untill you
fit your performance headers.

I have a B16 CRX and I have 2 1/4 piping straight thru and it sounds nuts every1 loves it and I get heaps of preformance from it aswell
