the current model Integra coupe is also called the Integra iS
or the base Integra...

INFLYT - that sounds about right. The R shed some weight with the sunroof becoming optional, less sound deadening and various other things that became options...

the weight difference between the dc2r and vti-r is meant to be 27kg. some spec sheets i've seen have the vti-r down as 1120kg, some say less and some say more...
i dunno what the correct answer is.

i do know that vti-r's were rated as 125kw in oz trim, from the factory ;)

...forgot to mention, the 93-95 integras have a bit less weight than 96- models.

EG_2_TEG: I have all the specs of the Generation 2's, both 89-91, as well as 92(-93?). I can post them up for you guys soon.

Also have some pretty pics of all variants (JDM versions) lined up; I'm sure it has already been passed around the board though.

By the way guys, i just wanted to know something about the older Tegs. I've got a DC2 and was wondering what engine's come in the model previous to mine. I'm not sure what that shape is reffered to as.

Anyone know what their designated code is (as in '94 is DC2) and what engines that shape came with?

Wasn't the previous model Teg the LS Integra? I think it had the B18B1 motor... the DC2 GSi's have the B18B2?

Designated code for LS is DA. In Australia they came with the B18a.

In other countries you could get them with the b16a (xsi badged) or also ZC motors.

The yanks also had a choice of a B17A. A DOHC VTEC block.

The second gen or "LS" Integra ran from 89-93, producing 130HP.

i believe only the 89-90 model produced 130hp and the 91-93 upgrade produced 140hp with stronger internals ...

89 to 91 tegs ran the b18a, at 130hp (96kw) the 92-93 had 140hp this is for the Aust spec cars difference bettween the two was only in the manifolds and ECU. In America they also had the GSR which ran a b17a, Basically just a stroked b16. in japan they also had the b16a, zc, and possibly also a d series single cammer. In Australia we only got the DA9 or LS model which came with all options including A/C and sunroof but ABS only on the updated 92-93 spec. (optional only?) the update model also had different steering wheel and front and rear bumpers. Also if anyone knows who owns the grey 4 door in Adelaide i would love to see your car close up and where is it from? 4 doors were never sold in Australia. oh yeah, the Aus spec 2nd gen teg weighed 1122kg. :)

The 1989-1993 generation Honda Integra bears the code E-DA. This is the most important generation of models in Honda's history as this is where the legendary VTEC system was introduced. The very first VTEC engine was the 160ps version of the DOHC VTEC B16A and the very first model to use this engine was the DA6 Honda Integra RSi/XSi, first introduced by Honda in April 1989. Thus as the official JDM Honda factory manual for the DA6 states, the first VTEC engine in the world is a B16A bearing the serial number 1000001 and was used in an Integra RSi or XSi which beared the chasis serial 1000001 !

I dont know if i should start a new thread.

Ive seen a 2001 ITR dc2 with b18a on the engine.
Is this a transplant?...It also had a chunk of metal sticking out near the gearbox stating LSD...
Going by previous information b18a were only in integra LS..correct?
Did the LS have an LSD?
Is it safe to assume that a b18a has been transplanted into the car for whatever reason. Or is this a legit ITR DC2..

Ive also looked through this thread and I have a conflicting conclusions.

LSD only came on ITR, B18A was used in DA, B18B in DC4. Overall sounds a bit suss, got pics?

VTIR/GSR dont come in auto, there redline is at 8200RPM, and the rocker cover is black and says "DOHC VTEC"

how much does a rwd car loose through drivetrain ?
some manufacturers vary due to materials used, eg. Nissan R33 NA Skyline vs Toyota NA Supra, Nissan is more efficient by almost 10% according to one test I saw years ago.
Generally rwd may lose 30-40% depending on make and transmission type.

Hi all,

I've just joined this forum and was wondering what the difference was between the Integral Type S 2004 - 2006 models (if any?).
I've tried researching this subject and found a detailed Wikipedia page summarising significant differences between the 04 and 06 models (ref: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Honda_Integra_DC5), a lot seems to have changed between these year models.

The reason I ask is because I'm looking at purchasing an Integra Type S and wanted to make sure I wasn't missing out on any major upgrades. It seems that gear ratios, suspension etc. were all upgraded - however I'm not 100% sure that this is related to models brought into Australia.

I hope someone may be able to shed some light on this for me?

Many thanks in advance.
