Hi guys,
my gf's going to get a Honda Jazz Vti-s and was wondering if the stock cd player in the car reads mp3s. I know cars like the Yaris and new swift read mp3's but does anybody know about the Jazz?
Thanks

The premium integrated head unit in Australian spec doesn't support MP3s. I haven't worked out what's premium about it yet. It doesn't support MP3s, doesn't reliably play CDRs, doesn't have enough power for decent speakers, is made in mainland China and they have made it as hard as possible to change because of he integration with the air controls non-din standard facia.

But you can buy another fascia that will allow you to put an after market radio in that will support MP3's I have one in my Jazz with a high powered sony cd/mp3 player. And the fascia is a Genuine Honda part with all the correct control holes.

so what exactly is the fascia? Is it like a bracket that replaces the whole housing of where the standard intergrated deck is so an aftermarket deck can be fitted?
Also i think my gf might end up getting the genuine 6 cd stacker for the jazz but would anybody know the price? Since it's genuine i'm assuming it'll be very expensive something like $600 perhaps.

Yes the stacker is expensive and you still won't get the MP3 option here is pic of my setup with a PDA which has navigation software and a bluetooth handsfree kit.

the stock cd-player does not support mp3 format. but if u planning to modify your audio system you can buy a audio bracket, its honda OEM parts. i saw once for sell in RE Custom in melbourne, should be around 120AUD. and you also have to buy the air-con...etc stickers from honda dealer which is not included when u purchase the bracket. this audio bracker allow u to replace ur stock player and its 2 din size.

You don't need to buy the stickers. The origal ones come off and go back on. They are a seperate assembly.
