Aim: to bend the lip of the guard upwards to eliminate the tyres from scrubs.

Tools:
Jack

Jack stands

Rubber Mallet
http://img261.imageshack.us/img261/9046/dsc02125sy0.jpg

Overall Time: 30mins to 1.5 hrs depending on how much strength u wanna use.

Step 1
Loosen the lug nuts on the rear wheels.
http://img260.imageshack.us/img260/8105/dsc02115cf0.jpg

Step 2
Jack the car up and support them on jack stands
http://img444.imageshack.us/img444/1330/dsc02119ju6.jpg

Step 3
Take wheel off and peel the rubber strip off the lip of the guard
http://img260.imageshack.us/img260/8346/dsc02139ij4.jpg

now u can see the damage that mines been through
http://img408.imageshack.us/img408/5484/dsc02140ag5.jpg

Step 4
using the top of the mallet slowing beat the lip upwards like this.
http://img259.imageshack.us/img259/1984/dsc02133dc3.jpg

try to beat the lip evenly and DO NOT focus on just one spot as this may result in you bending more then just ur lip.

Step 5
once ur happy with the amount of bending/bashing you have done put back the rubber striping, wheels back on and lower ur car back to the ground.

Go for a quick drive around the block and see how it goes if scrubing is still occuring bash the lip up more till its vertical.

Finish product

notice how the lip isnt sticking down as it used to, i did mine so it would stick up about 30-40 degrees.

How it used to be

This guide will not total eliminate scrubing for some cases but will ease the pain.

This will ease the scrubing untill i can afford coils

Man, that is full ghetto style.. haha
I had mine done by pros with the proper machine. Costed me $50 a corner..

When you did yours, did the paint crack at all?

For other people who are going to do this to their car, I heard from people to use a hair dryer to heat up the area you are bending in to prevent the paint from cracking.. incase...

yea thats just the camera. nah no paint cracked. i had to do it this way cuz my guards were getting owned. i even had to strip my interior so it would sit higher. now i rarely scrub, only on hard turns.

claymore, i know way u mean. i took my time and evenly hit the lip in and tried not to focus on one particular stop. i guess i got lucky :)

You pretty much will end with the paint chipping or cracking without previous heating of the lip. Just be aware and dont yell @ ozhonda lol

nah its all good, if i didnt roll the guards i would of had a 2 busted tyre and my guards woulda been bent by the force of the wheels hitting them.

i pretty much followed this diy on team integra but i didnt have a baseball bat.http://www.team-integra.net/sections/articles/showArticle.asp?ArticleID=698
