dunno if its defectable, but its going to make a friggen mess and encourage rust

Insted, take of your wheel and see where the scrubing is, grab a heatgun, heat the plastic and using a rubber mallet push the plastic into the shape you need, dont bang just kinda form it if you know what i mean

hmm thats the prob its rubbing against the screw which holds the splash guard up. so if i cut it there mite be chances that it will sag overtime?

you really dont wanna remove splash guards. how big are the rims and how low is it?

u could always modify the current guard or even make a new one (maybe from thin sheet aluminum as its easy to work with?)

Why are you concerned with defect? If the wheels are scrubbing there's a good chance that your car is probably too low now anyway which is also defectable.

Just undo the screw where it rubs. You don't need to undo all the screws, just the one which is the offender. The whole splash guard will still stay in place.

i read an article in a magazine from a few years ago and it says that it will be defective if you remove the splash guards. However you can replace it with a substitute. Correct me if the law has changed in sydney

hey mate, i've had the same problem with my civic coupe, and i just took the splash gaurd off. its not a defect in any way, its only there to REDUCE the amount of water going up under your engine bay. it doesn't stop it. all you might have to do is avoid driving into any lakes or reallly deep puddles. if you get wat i mean.

I agree with ALPINE, if it's rubbing on the screw, take off the screw.
Then go from there.

But what size are your tyres, and do you know your wheel offset? I'm dropped a little over two inches (50mm) in my DA9, but with the right tyres and a good offset.
I don't have any chance of scrubbing anywhere.

P.S. The DA starts off with 150mm of ride height, so 50mils is the most you can drop if you're worried about defects.

25.4mm equals 1inch. So you've got an approximate 58mm drop with 2,25inchs.
