Spraying noise

Hi guys,
I've been driving my dc2r for abit now and lately i've been hearing some spraying noise as i drive. It usually happens from 4k-6k rpm on 1st and 2nd gear. My guess is a leakage from the stock catback?. If anyones had this problem or knows how it can be fixed, i will really appreciate it. Cheers

does it happen only on 1st & 2nd? wot about when ur on high rev in 3rd?

yeah. it happens on 3rd gear too.. the spraying noise also happens on high rev but is not noticable cos of the vtec is louder than the spraying sound.

I think I've got a simular problem. I wouldnt describe it as spraying, but its very simular.

yes i started to hear this *spraying* noise aswell after i had my head/full exhaust put in. the noise becomes louder as the rev gets higher. sounds like its coming from my header, i thought it was a leak, look it back to the shop the guy said its nomal *blah blah blah* :s

Do you have an exposed pod filter?
Maybe its your pod's hissing from air intake.

my guess is its ur headers. either that, or u got NAWSSSS :P

Ive got the same sort of noise coming from my gsi, starts about 5000rpm and gets louder towards redline. I had headers and a new exhaust put on befor i got my intake and it never made the noise, it only started after i put the intake on with a plain old vanilla K/N pod.

Spraying/hissing/sucking sound can come from your air intake and even your headers.

DC sports headers are known for there hissing. My J's Racing intake makes a hell of a lot of hissing from 6500 - 8200 rpm.

All it means is that your filter is working :thumbsup:

do you have aftermarket clutch/flywheel?

is it a whooshing/fluttering type of sound?

I've got a pod airfilter. I know theres a whistling noise when you put that on, but thats not it. Sounds like a leak or something. Its a short spray sound that goes for not even a second. To me it just doesnt sound right. Ive got an aftermarket clutch which is the heavy duty exedy clutch.

at the risk of sounding like a lunatic, i have heard a few people mention 'a new noise' after installation, however, some of these have been with a Toda flywheel too...

My DC2R is completely stock but I've noticed this noise too.

cant be exhuast leak .. as it normally have a farty rexy sound in ur exh. sysmtem

i hava orc single plate ... this makes a ssphhhs sound when the clutch is disengaged b/coz its got a floating plate ... its normal .. is urs a single plate?

could be ur pod filter... the sucking sound or as u back off the hissing air coming back out the filter
