So, after having my license for, like, 8 years, I've finally had an accident. :(
My poor DC2R, which I've had for just over a month, has rear ended an old Corolla with a tow ball. There isn't a scratch on the 'rolla, but the tow ball has punched a nice little hole in my bumper, missing the driver's side indicator, but maligning it.
I'm hoping someone can help me by answering some questions:
I'll of course be looking at some quotes for repairs. Anyone recommend a beater in the Brisbane area?
Since the indicator is maligned as well, will that complicate repairs and make them more costly?
Would I benefit from checking out car yards for a used bumper and replace the whole thing?
Help much appreciated.

Sounds like you just need a new front bumper dude.
Go to the wreckers and get one, take it to the panel shop for spraying. and then fit it yourself.
maybe bent reo bar as well
other than that it doesnt sound bad

^^ what he said! but make sure it's a type-r front bar!
I'm sure it's really easy to not notice and buy a vtir/gsi item.
And those wreckers only want your money so they dont care.
..(speaking from experience here :P)

Thanks for the suggestions. I was beginning to think that way when the sun came up this morning and I saw the damage properly. The pics don't quite show it, but there's some damage to the plastic grill too.

Yeah, probably will do this. The lip is fine... So I'm assuming there is absolutely no difference in 2000/01 dc2r and 2000/01 dc2 bumpers?

From the looks of the pictures (although it is hard to tell) the reo is probably going to be ok and you just need a front bar.

Yeah, I think the reo bar is okay. I was practically just rolling when I hit him.

I might consider getting an aftermarket bumper... nothing over the top or anything... but I don't want something that will be too much lower than the stock bumper+lip. Anyone know of any bumpers that approximate the height of the stock one?

Stock itr bar looks the best on a DC2r.....
