Cant get link to work?
yeah most shiftlights can be "setup" to start flashing at a set RPM, my friend has a similar one that he plugs into the cig lighter and once u plug it in u set the light at what RPM you want it to flash at and PRESTO!. simple

i was thinking about using the sensor as a switch so that the back ground light on my dash would light up every time Vtec kicks in.
how accurate is the system
what exactly do you mean by sensor? you mean the vtec solenoid? if so, i dnt see why it wouldnt work with good wiring. im sure there was a DIY a while back on this
and in terms of accuracy, it depends on how you set it up. you setup what RPM it starts to FLASH.

YES the shift light works from autojoy ...
i have tried their shift light on my own car and it works perfect ...
basically when you put the plug into the cigarette lighter it will follow the rpm rythm as all the electricals are all from the one source.
this just marries up the rpm signal and presto!!!
works perfect

Yahuh, theres a DIY in on hooking these up too.....
Linkies.... (http://www.ozhonda.com/forum/showthread.php?t=16083&highlight=vtec+light)
The light will work fine, though i dont think you'd want too big of a light for vtec. Maybe a big light to shift with, and a smaller light for vtec?

Just use the 12 volt signal from the VTEC solanoid to power a relay which turns on different dash lights.

might as well wire a light or a neon straight to your vtec solenoid...
that way it will ONLY light up when vtec comes on.
i have a PIVOT light and i found when it was hooked with the ciggy lighter it would sometimes flash randomly... now i've wired it to the blue signal wired at the back of the tacho and it works right on the dot
