your accessories runs through the lighter and is usually connected to your radio. buy a multimeter and check continuity. or take it to someone who has one.

i just also realised my clock is now off as well, so i think ivwe totallt screwed my thing, could i of shirt circuted it by trying to put something in (forget if it was metal or not) into the socket? or would i have just of broken a connection in the wire from maybe cutting it when it got pushed back?
Thanks!

well that happen to my civic just yesterday wheni installed a nother deck.. the i just poped my bonnet and checked for blown fuses and my back-up fuse was gone.. so just replaced that with another 7.5A and it worked like a treat.

it's your back-up fuse..
as bigjo5 has stated, check under your bonnet.. and replace it.

yeah, blown fuse
I've done it in my civic too, by overloading the cig lighter (pluging in a tv and a dvd player = no no)
in my case the same fuse controlled the cig lighter, the clock and the head unit, check the back up one in the engine bay, as above stated, as well as one under the steering wheel in the kick panel....ohh and pull out whatever you put in there

the back up fuse is in the engine bay. not where the steering is
