Hi All,

For anyone knowledgeable about tyres..

I've currently got stock honda dc4 vti'r 'blade' rims which have yokohama A539 tyres 195/55/R15. and the tyres need replacing soon, but pricing wise 195/50/R15's seem to be cheaper per corner..

My question is... can I change to 195/50/R15 on the rims I have??.. is the difference between going from 55 to 50 just sidewall height?

Is this possible on this rim, eg. a lower profile will look better and If its commonly cheaper to buy that size then would seem ideal... on paper that is.

stock tyres have it as 55.. so if u wanna keep it to the exact factory setting, get 55.

but if otherwise, 50 is not tat much a difference in terms of comfort nor will it affect the speedo by much. its actually a better alternative if u ask me, its cheaper, comfortable and looks better.

here's a quick tire calculation tool u may find useful.

all the best.

ur rolling diameter will be less..
so u're speedo will be showing faster than u're actually going.. (which is good in a way, to steer clear from speed cameras..)

cool. thanks for the responses guys.. seems like its the way to go. cheaper, looks better.. and not much diff. ride quality by the sounds of it.. sweet!
