I'm considering selling my 97 Vti coupe in the next couple of months and am trying to get a better idea of its value. Obviously I have looked on Carsales but that only tells you what people are trying to sell them for, not what they are actually selling for.

So if anyone has done a deal on a similar model any info would be appreciated :)

I'm looking for 12-13K.

Is it a manual?

Rebook lists the average price:

Prices based on km 150,000 - 250,000
Trade in price guide* $6,300 - $8,000
National average price - private sale* $8,300 - $11,100
Price when new (RRP) $30,900
all prices quoted are GST inclusive

12-13K might be a bit too much unless its done less than 150000km

Yeah its a manual with about 110kkms.

I've always found redbook to be terribly unreliable, mostly underestimating, and according to them my car has rear disc brakes too. I suppose the only way to really find out what its worth is by putting it on the market.

thats way too high. i have my 97 vtir up on carsales.com.au and i put it in at $13k, gotten a few callers, but no actual visits yet. there r a ton of vtirs around the $14k+ mark as well, so mine is well priced, and it only have 127k km on it.
u need to re-evaluate ur price for a vti

Thanks for your reply yellows2k.

Thats why I thought I'd check, there are only 6 VTi in NSW on carsales, 3 for $12000, a couple of modded ones for 14-15 and one cheap on for 10k.

There's an even bigger range of prices if you expand the search to all states.

I thought I would ask for a high 12, and get talked down to a low 12.

sorry but research the values yourself :)

We dont allow threads like this ~ simply because it gets un-needed attention. ( similar to a EOI)

Post it up in the for sale section once you have researched elsewhere what other civics are going for then hopefully someone will pay what you want.

good luck
