Hi all,

I'm new in this Integra section of the forum, and hopefuly no one ever ask this same question before (cant find after doing a search though).

basically, I currently drove a '06 8th Gen Civic (Auto T-T) and not happy with its performance (eventhough its a great cruising car) and might sell it to my gf later... :p

anyway, I was thinking of buying a DC5 integra (my dream car) but having this options to look at... and as usual, cant decided which one to buy...

Here are the options I have (all stock, no mod):
1. 2002 Integra Special Edition ($25k)
2. 2002 Integra Type R ($28k)
3. 2004 Integra Type R ($35k)
4. 2004 MY05 Integra Type S ($35k)
5. 2005 Integra Luxury ($36k)

Thanks for the help ^_^

well... i prefer all of the above ^_^. but realistically, I prefer a sports car that is nice for cruising and good enough at the red light (at least I wont get beaten by a celica :p)

DC5S imo...
Good cruiser, nice comfy seats, but still packs a punch.

Then again, id personally go a DC5R for its mechanical ups compared to the Type S.

they are the same..but 04 will be in better condition and better resell value later i guess...if u have the money of coz get the later model...dc5r will be wot u looke for...dc2r would be too much of a race car...i dot' think u'll like it as a cruiser

DC2 has nicer shape, but DC5R probably for the comfort level.

actually my dream car was DC2R (drive it once and cant never forget how amazing it is...) but here I want to compare the DC5 models (e.g. should I go with late DC5R, early DC5R or DC5S)

well, i think you should drive them all and select what suits your tastes more.

Everyone on here has their biases. And it seems like you understand the differences between the models.

So I think your judgement is better than anyone elses on what you want :)

wow... you sound so wise like "myfather" heheheh...

makasih ya... (I assume you're Indo :p)

one thing that still confuse me is to get between the DC5R (late model) or DC5S (early model - cheaper).

I'm white.

UM ~ Well, it depends man, If I was you, there's nothing like the Type R badge.

I wish I had a Type-R but im too big for the recaro's :P

With all the cars you test, ask the owner if you could run the engine up to redline, and do it in an area with a speed limit high enough so you won't be caught speeding.

I guess if you are after a cruiser, an Accord Euro could be in your price range too?????????????

They're better as cruising cars.

The Accord Euro only satisfies 1 out of 3 of his criteria.

really depends what you use your car for, If you go to the tracks get the DC5R because it has LSD, unlike the Type S.

But if you prefer daily driving, with a bit of luxury get the Type S.

Definatly test drive! It's when your own personal preference will come out of it's shell and shut out what anyone else thinks

I test drove a 2005 Type S on a Monday afternoon, by Wednesday of that same week it was in my garage :D

Nothing beats just giving them a go for yourself! good luck!

thx heaps...

yeah I have to skip the Euro... (reminds you that my Civic Sports is a great cruiser as well...) But I could never stop turning my heads from Integra since I was in High School (early model of DC2R =p)

So, its kinda of a "desire" to wond an Integra... but DC2 is, sorry, too old for now...

A little info for you b4 you go test drive

2002 Special Edition and 2005 Lux model is not what you looking for....

2002 and 2004 DC5R are pretty much the same except the head light and rear light.....as Spoon DA9R states.....you may get better re-sell value later but it all depends on which one you like better....I have a 02 DC5R and I love it more then the current shape.....just personal preference......

DC5S have more power compare to DC5R but without all the R features....such as Recaros, momo steeling wheel, LSD.....if you don't track your car at all the S will pretty much match what you listed.....but if you think you will mod it later and may want to go track in later stage.....I suggest you get DC5R.....The Recaro hug you better and dun slide all over the place....plus LSD make a huge difference while cornering.....

If you look for a car which is great for daily drive only.....go DC5S
If you look for a car that you will drive daily as well as some track days....go DC5R......

Hope that helps bro.....

hey DC2R is not that old!!! haha...but its a very raw race car comparing to DC5R which is more classy sport when, so ask most have said...cruiser with speed and performance...definitly DC5R

2002 and 2004 DC5R are pretty much the same except the head light and rear light.

theres no external difference between the 02 and 04 DC5R, the change at facelift also changed to the DC5S and no more DC5R.

if you can find low k example of the dc5r, it will give you some spare cash to do some modding with.
