Hi,

I dunno should I leave this question here or in the DIY section...

basically my bro want to replace his older model DC5 tail light (e.g. MY02) with the latest model (e.g. MY05 and above)...

So I just want to know if he can do it or not... if yes, will it be hard (e.g. have to cut the panels and stuff) or will it be possible to DIY?

someone on Clubitr did that conversion before i think.

yeah can be done, you need to change the bumper aswell, and the bracket which supports the lights.

why would he want to do that? i personally think that the pre-facelifted DC5's look much better, especially the DC5R compared with the DC5S

I was looking at doing a similar thing to my 03 DC5. Came across these aftermarket taillights that are a cheaper alternative, which IMO look better than the OEM taillights, well in picture anyway:
