What other replacement tyres suit the Accord Euro besides 205/50/16 Michelin Precedas or the Dunlop SP 2050M tyres? Looking for four tyres @ < $1000.

Yokohama C.drive for $800. Pirelli Dragon for $900.

C.drive for low road noise and comfort plus wet grip. Dragon for long life and dry grip.

I am actually running C Drive Yokos on my wife's Commodore, The do seem quite good.

Can I go to a 215 (or 225) /50/16 rather than a 205/55/16? Is there any point in trying to get more rubber on the road?

You can use 225/50 R16. It's up to you but no point if you are not at the limits of grip in your daily driving. Plus, you'll get a little more road noise.
