Hi All,

Ive done some searching and i cant seem to find the correct wiring diagrams as there are too many versions that people write up - so here is the deal!!

I need the FULL CLUSTER wiring diagram for the below:

DC2 - 94-97 - Integra Type R
DC2 - 98-01 - Integra Type R

EF - 88-91 - Crx / Civic
ED - 88-91 - Crx / Civic

Can someone shed some light of where i can source or download them? as im going to use a ITR CLuster into a Concerto (B16A).

Also ive noticed that the ITR Clusters have electronic speedometer, is there anyway i can convert this to a Cable Speedo or vice versa?

Only helpful response please!!

EDIT: SPEEDO STILL NOT WOKRING AND VTEC NOT SWITCHING!!! WTF?????

Thanks!!

Ryan

thanks for that, ive downloaded a couple but theres is a shiet load of pages.. hahaha

anyone here done this cluster conversion into a ED/EF civic/crx?
where is CRXer i know he's done it ...lost his contact!!

ok kool..

i got the diagrams and shieet... now ive got a question . as i couldnt find it on the diagram ..

is there a wire from the ECU to the cluster? e.g. speed sensor wire?

of does this speed sensor wire come from the gearbox (speed sensor plug)?

any help would be beneficial.

Cheers!

a wire wil go from the vss to the ecu, then from the ecu to the cluster.

sweet ..

but the wire from the VSS to the ECU to the cluster is the same VSS wire right? so practically it will be a Y wire connection .. e.g. like a splitter.

Do u know what the 3 wire is from the plug on the VSS ?

i think one of them is the VSS signal wire and the other two are power and ground.

but what colour is what?

ECU = OBD1 P30 with grey plugs.

the two wires are joined in the loom.

at the vss conector you get

gnd, 12v and vss signal

gnd is black
12v is red with yellow trace

vss is yel/blu

the below is what the VSS plug had

yel/wht = wtf? is this suppose to be red wit yellow trace?
yel/blu = VSS signal
blk = GND

i hooked everything up, now im gettin a CEL code.
1 long blink then followed by 7 short blinks... = code 17?? and ONLY one CEL CODE.

the Speedo is not working and VTEC is not engaging (not switching)

does this VSS all got something to do with the VTEC and the CEL code?

PLEASE HELP!!

EDIT: just found out the code 17 is VSS - Vehicle Speed Sensor.

NOW why is my VTEC not working then?

what could of i overcome? - yel/wht wire ??? is this suppose to be the power? does dis require constant power or is it an ignition power switch???

OR could it possibly be the VSS component that is farked? coz everything is wired up correctly, is there any way the VSS can be checked if working ok?

Also does it matter if the VSS mechanical is from an Integra OBD2 and the actual VSS sensor (where the plug - plugs into) is from an EG SIR OBD1?
SHIEETT someone help a bastard out!! =P

it should be ok. as long as the vss is turning with the gearbox you have a chance.

VTEC will not enable unless yoru driving over 30km/h on a stock ecu.

you dont want constant power to the vss, run it from the ign.

remove the vss from the gearbox, wire it corectly and spin it up by habd or with a cordless drill to test it.

looking at the vss connctor of the engine bay loom the the wires facing you and the flat of the conector on the bottom and the bump on top.

most left is gnd
middle is 12v
right is vss

the colours of the wires on the vss should be

black = ground
yellow = 12v
blue = vss signal

im getting confused first u said that (IN RED):
VSS = yel/blu
12v = red/yel
GND = Blk

then u said (in GREEN)
the colours of the wires on the vss should be

black = ground
yellow = 12v
blue = vss signal

OK so if i am looking at the plug directly with the pin at the top and the bottom is flat, this is what i see:

BLK = GND
YEL/BLU =
YEL/WHT =

So which is what?

YEL/BLU = 12v or VSS?
YEL/WHT = VSS or 12v?

I dont have a blue or yellow wire on its own.

So if the middle is 12v does this mean that yel/blu is 12v and the yel/wht on the other end of the blk is the VSS signal?

but from the ECU its a yel/blu on pin B10 - P30 ECU.

also i am hitting over 30klm on a warm engine, and still no VTEC... could the VSS have something to do with this?

WOOHOO!!!

I JUST FIXED IT!! and its all working now!! VTEC is engaging too!! WOOHOO

something to think about .. dont know if this helps but from my experience, if the VSS is not working and you get a CEL code 17 and this is the only code, then dont expect your VTEC to work either!!! check for power / continuity on both coloured wires on your VSS - cluster - ECU - dont matter what engine, ECU u have (obviously stock ECU) just check it before you start replacing expensive items like clusters, ECU, VSS sensor.

Thanks ECU-MAN once again for your help - since i couldnt wait any longer for your response to my last questions, i just started to troubleshoot it myself..
