Hello all,

When i'm in 1st gear and i floor it (press down the accelerator all the way down to the floor) my rev go up alil then just drops... hmm maybe i should put it another way.

the car hesitates and then goes again... it kinder jumps before it starts going...

does anyone know what the problem is? i have the ngk idirum (sorry aobut spelling) and a new air filter, aslo a new fuel filter and syn. oil... basically a major service...

thanks in advance

Sounds like a slipping clutch.

When was your clutch last changed?

Not too sure to be honest, haven't had the car for very long...

you check all your spark plugs and leads? maybe misfiring? ur dizzy?

also did it happen after u put in the new fuel filter...?

i remember on my crx i owned b4 when vtec came in on high revs it would do something like that as if it shudders and cuts out in little bits (not majorly but) :? , not a smooth acceleration... then i changed my fuel filter and it was fine :)

Take it to a mechanic or clutch specialist and get the to take a look. Sounds alot like what my Integra currently does with a 99% dead clutch. :)
Does it happen in every other gear as well? Eg. if you rev to 5500 or over and shift up and plant the accelerator does the same thing happen? Your revs fall before "catching" again?

sounds like your leads to me, could even be the rotor button and or the cap. if the clutch was screwed the engine would flair up but the car would go nowhere

No i believe it only happens on 1st gear after a stopping to a stand still

the new fuel filter could be faulty?

i think if the clutch is dead.. like ecu-man says the engine would rev up high and the car will just move slowly..like its bogged. To test out your clutch, shift it in 1st gear and slowly take the clutch off, if the car jerks hard, then ya clutch is still good... if it just locks in. then ya clutch is a gonna. But i doubt its the clutch. prolly something to do with fuel. Thats my guess tho... GOOD LUCK DUDE.

Sounds like a misfire to me too

Check and/or change the following...
Plug leads
Dizzy cap
Spark plugs - check for water inside the plug holes
fuel filter
oil - sometimes....

Doesn;t sound like clutch to me either

sorry aobut the lateness in replying... well i'm not sure if this is the same thing but you can tell me if it is or not...

but if i'm in 1st gear and i accel. alil then release the clutch the car jerks.

is that the same thing as your test?

Sorrry aslo for the late reply....

I'm actually not sure how to check the leads or the dizzy cap...
In terms of the spark plugs, i've recently changed it but if there is watter in the holes how do i go about getting the holes dry again?
hmm... i'm not too sure how to test the fuel filter either.. :O(

If the car jerks on take off Only while your foot is operating the clutch and only if there is no misfire once the clutch is released then it is possible its your clutch. or your flywheel needs machining.
