I've got my new clutch and flywheel in yesterday and just wondering about a few things.

First off with the new clutch, it feels like my old worn clutch, does it take time for it to wear in? Have been reading about the wear in period.

Also when I clutch in, I hear a fuzzy noise, every time i clutch in, is this the flywheel noise everyones been talking about?

What sort of clutch is it? Is it an OEM replacement or a heavy duty?

Need a bit more info

ok similar setup to me.. I have jdm dc5r 4.7kg flywheel and exedy sports organic.

when i had mine installed it was noisier than stock which is expected with less rotational mass to dampen the vibrations from the tranny/engine

recently tho mines been clicking and making noise on clutch in... i took it back to the mechanic and they lubed the release bearing it went a way for a week or two and recently returned.

Although your noise is slightly different to what I'm experiencing it could very well be the release bearing... do you know if it was greased sufficiently?

Fuzzy noise could be the clutch plate springs.

mine makes the same clicking nosie on clutch in...but only when its really hot and i have been riding the clutch a little too much, but the last couple of weeks its been relativly cold in melbourne, so it hasnt made the nosie
however, its still makes a loud scraping sound (sort of a "erkkk" sound) when taking off from a standstill, happens when im at friction point(ie clutch starting to touch flywheel)

That happens because of the friction material. It's more aggressive than OEM and when it does rub, it make that sound.

Just like brake pads. Aggressive brake pads make a HORRENDOUS sound.

Anyway, still keep a lookout for sounds when your clutch is out, or when your clutch is in.

mate honestly that sounds like your release bearing. my gearbox came off today and it was confirmed that the release bearing was shot and in need of replacement.

my symptoms were the same, metal to metal clicking sound when it's hot (but no not erkk sound on take off) and just before i took the car in it had a rattling spinning noise on acceleration (it had been doing it previously but only on deceleration)

what sort of clutch do you have? because an organic material clutch shouldnt be overly noisy on take up.
