hey guys, just new to the honda world, just wondering what engine oil are you using in a d16 motor and what auto gearbox oil do you use in a 99 ek civic. I run the mobil 1 stuff in my 400hp r32 and it seems pretty good stuff, just need to know if its to thin for the civic. Move this thread into the right section please if its in the wrong one.

Honda OEM is the best to go for most of the fluids unless you want a fully synthetic engine oil.

+ 1 vote for FEO oil for engine oil.

Also , use only OEM ATF too as said ~
pretty much ANY auto gearbox needs the OEM fluid...

Use ONLY Honda ATF for the auto gearbox. As for engine oil, stick to 10w-30. Honda FEO is 10w-30. You can use other brands too, but make sure it is 10w-30 (or 0w-30, 5w-30, 0w-40, 5w-40, 10w-40, these are ok too).

Honda ATF from the dealer.

Honda FEO is good. Just change it every 6 months or 7000km. Don't wait until 10,000km. I use Castrol Edge 5w-30, $62 (supercheap/autobarn 20% off, $50). Pretty good. But for the price, you can get 2 bottles of FEO.
