hello, i have a Ej8 Coupe Civic 96, bought it and it already had a 3.5" catback on it. When taking off there is a flat spot. Took it to honda and they say that it is because of lack of back pressure. Can anyway tell me whats i should change to get the same sound as it and get my power back.

Thanks.

3.5" is far too big for a 1.6 SOHC engine..
look at getting 2.25" or even 2"

LOL i just measured it and it is 4". The n00b before me who put it on dont think he knew much....

So what parts do i replace because i think that they have replaced the whole exhaust from motor down to the back. Looks to be 2" up untill the catback.

yeah buddy, catback is not the tip of your exhaust, i think you're a little confused.

what do you mean ? like the pipe that goes into the cannon ? or the actual cannon?

looks like a stock exhaust with a milo can welded on.
the muffler isnt going to effect your performance. you need to upgrade your exhaust piping, tho then the muffler mite make it alil too loud.

To simply fix the flat spot, remove the exisitng muffler and go back to a stock muffler and tip (you can pick one up from a wrecker). If you decide that you want to increase your power, look at either an axleback, catback or full exhaust setup.

Have a look at this link as I am not sure you understand exhausts properly. Your car only has a muffler on it and not a "catback":

I just reset the ECU and it all now seems to be fine.
