just a quickie guys, debadge the accord rear today. 3 minutes to do.
Just used dental floss to break sticky and then cleaned of residue.

also tidied up the front number plate holder thingy. They are huge!!
Easy really, and lower grill is completely exposed now. Looks much better.

Just used a hacksaw and redrilled number plate. Throw away that big black plastic flat bit too. ( I Know it sounds dodgey but it looks fine)

cheers

Pictures please! I agree with plate holders being massive. I've chopped the bottom half of the plate holder (excess bits). I've got the slim plates. No pictures atm.

I did the same with my front plate - cut it with a saw.

With the debadging - there are no holes under the badge to patch?- ie is there only adhesive sticking it to the panel?

I am interested in doing this so any info on process appreciated - eg how did you remove the residue after removing the label?

thanks
y

Don't wanna hijack this thread, but here is my debadged Euro.

Looks quite nice imo, and a little different from the many Accord Euro's out there.

Thanks guys - following this post I just debadged my Euro - i like it!

Getting the residue off was a real bitch. Perth Euro - not sure how you did it in 3 minutes. It took me 2 minutes to get the badge off and something like 30 minutes to get the residue off (rubbing it, using water - i tried lots of different ways). Anyway - happy with the result.

sorry vtec16, im computer iliterate and dont know how to post piccys!!

There is no holes behind the accord & euro badging.

I used dental floss to "cut" behind the badge, then just rubbed off the excess left. I was suprised how easily the sticky stuff came off. I honestly just rubbed it off, like bluetac, with my fingers.

On my previous car it was a pain in the ass to remove. The key to getting the sticky shit off is to use Eucalyptus oil!! No worries

Interesting slugoid, you say debadged yet big H is still on, same as me. hahah i think the one badge looks the goods, i too couldnt bring myself to remove it. The black is ohhhh soooooo nice!!!

I do have pics, but need help

cheers

Somehow I think debadging only the "Accord Euro" badge makes it look like those BMW or Mercs with no badges (e.g. the 318i and C180 badges). Haha

As for pics, your ISP may have some webspace for you to host stuff. Another easy way would be to simply host it in the Album section here. 3 pics per user, so yeah.

go to http://www.imageshack.us/ and upload your pics there. they will then give you a bit of code that you can cut and paste into these forums to display the pic.

give it a try. its completely free and no registration is required. I dont know how they make their money!

righto here we go

the various bits n peices

http://img10.imageshack.us/img10/3083/IMG_1793.jpg

throw away the big black flat bit and cut the other peice so its just smaller than your plate. You need this bit (as seen on the right below) as it shaped so the plate sits flat against the bumper.

http://img29.imageshack.us/img29/3083/IMG_1793.jpg

I did have to lower (ie plates sits higher) the mounting holes of the actual #plate, as i wanted the plate to sit totally above the bottom grill. If you dont want to drill your plate it will just sit a bit lower.
you need to then put it all back together. First screw black plastic back on then the plate to that.

(CLEAR AS MUD)

I also debadged my Accord V6 Luxury shortly after getting it from the showroom. Took off the "3.0 V6 VTEC" badge and was almost about to remove the "ACCORD" badge as well but decided to leave it at the last minute. It does look heaps neater with less badges!

is this legal in NSW?

must have been luck.
I also took the protective side strips of my GF new mazda 3, and that took me 10 mins. It took me 3 hours and all finger nails worn down on my old corolla, so i know how u feel.

Good work tho

wouldn't think so. Here in WA anything other than the standard issue plates is actually illegal.

I have further developed my number plate mod (lol) so that you dont have to drill new holes in the plates.
You need to rotate the metal clips that the plate screws into, 90degrees. There is a little bit more plastice that will need to be trimmed.

This raises the plate a further 10mm higher.

I have also now removed the central "H" badge and replaced it with a ricey Red H badge, where the H glows blue. Yfin liked it

Is the red H badge a "stick on " type ? or does it have 2 small pins go into the 2 holes of the boot lid?

looks so nice with glowing blue "H"

how does it glow, is it like glow in the dark stickers that need light to charge ???

Do you guys fill the holes behind the H with silicon or anything?

I bought a red H for my Civic and I wanna remove it but I'm scared of it rusting in the 2 holes behind the badge.

It cost me about $45 dollars from some little rice shop in the Carillion Arcade.
It is hooked up to the numberplate lights, so it comes on when the headlights are turned on.
I didn't silicon the holes, but that would have been a good idea

[REM] is dead, my ex wife got me those plates, now they have gone too

PERTH_EURO, i know of someone who had the same badge on their civic - it might be worth waterproofing it with silicone - after a while in the rain his light malfunctioned some how and it became a "Uonda" badge
