Just had a quote for over 60bux to take my current axle back out and swap with a standard axle back. Bit hard to believe as wen i got my twinloop welded on,hangers welded on, it took about an hour and was only 50bux. Whats everyones opinions?

I would have thought $50 is pretty cheap. It's only $10 difference. I don't find that too hard to believe. Most mechanics etc charge around $70/hour labour.

well tahts using standard axel back piping
if u get some new piping eg. 2in made up to ur new exhaust
i've paid 100bux (that also include a new end bolt up head - so i can change over to stock axel back easily)
but jus using ur standard axel back piping and adapting onto ur new uffler, 50bux is ok.

my axle and flange is stock, just a different muffler. Wanting to put standard over. I thought simply lift up car, unbolt and bolt new axle back on. No welding needed

Oh. No welding. Well yeah. $60 is expensive for that. But I wouldn't think they could charge much less than that otherwise it just wouldn't be worth it them to do it. Just do it yourself. Problem solved.

aha no idea how to do myself.

The switch is between two cars. So 60bux for one car...and 100bux to switch mufflers over from one car to another

are you serious?
lol.
try calling up a mechanic shop, not an exhaust shop.
btw it's quite easy to do, it's just 2 or 3 bolts/nuts, and 2 rubber hangers which practcailly slide off.

Hence why the shop is going to charge for it. They may have a miniumum fee of $60 (most places that change by the hour would). You are not only paying for their time but their knowledge and training so they do your job right. Knowledge isn' free. We charge $132/hr in our industry so I think anything else is cheap :).

yeah knowledge isn't free, but there's a limit.
