Hey there,
recently had a genie canon muffler put on my car, hate it, toooo noisy.
Muffler place recommended a twin tip (twin outlet) exhaust, as it would provide a free flowing muffler, but quiet the b*tch down a fair bit.
i havnt heard much about the twin outlet exhaust before, any advise on them?
thanks
James

there are many things you can do to silence the sl*t, twin tip is one of these, or if you want keep your tip just get a smaller pipe before the muffler. i crushed my tip on a 4WD weekend from O to () and even that made a huge diffrence to the sound
1:smaller pipe to muffle
2:twin tip
3:diffrent shape tip
4:a second muffler
5:old school trick, JAM CHICKEN WIRE DOWN THERE
5th suggestion not recomended.

Best way to quiet it down is to put in a longer resinator (or put one in if there isnt an existing one). For the relatively small cost it means you dont have to change the existing system or its design.
Personally I dont know much about the 'twin tip' design. Is it a single 'hole' at the end of the muffler with two 'tips' splitting at the end?

I've had a Twin Tip for a Year and I'm Loving It!
Not Loud at all but gives you that deep tone sound....I think it matches perfect for my little EK1
Highly recommended if you want more quite Deep Tone sound than Ricey Loud MoFo farts...

A resonator will be your best bet to "quiet" down the exhaust note with minimal loss in power..
As for your "Twin tip" is it a single flanged to two tips or a twin muffler system i.e two cannons side by side...

yeh i was going to put a bigger resonator on there for starters to simply remove any tinny sound coming from the extractors. The twin tip design i am unsure about, i am seeing the guy monday to see it. the twin tips, are they still decent on performance? i also considered getting an xforce s12 twin loop, would that be more suitable rather than the twin tip?

my mugen twinloop catback is fairly deep
sounds tame on idle, no buzz that i hear on regular canon's and scream's in vtec :)

i spoke with the guy at the exhaust place today, the design seems nice asthetically, also he assures me that it will eliminate the 'tinny' noise i am getting, hence i do not need to bother with a bigger resonator.

I've got xForce Twin Loop for Trav (Egis) here @ OZH
