First, when i bought the DC2R i am driving at the moment, it had these shitty 195 no name "sava" brand tyres on the front.
The back was clad with 205 yoki ES100's, which are quite good!
Failing finding another set of the ES100's, as they have been discotinued from their range, i have been driving for about 6 months on these solid compound pieces of junk!
Anyway, invested in a set of MAXXIS Victra MAZ1's today, 205's all round.
Nothing short of the most impressive tires i have ever had on a car!!
Going form my previous car, EG civic, having MAXXIS 195's on the front only, the lifespan is pretty good for a silica compound tire such as this.
I would strongly recommend these to anyone who is in the market for some new street tires at the moment!

Secondly, my 1st to second gear synchro is a little worse for wear, doesn't really like being thrown at 8000rpm anymore! Anyway, tried this "Redline" gearbox oil in it and absolutely amazing, it's like a brand new gearbox, i can't crunch it if I try! 100 odd bucks later though, but worth every cent, as i would assume it is going to delay an inevitable gear box rebuild sometime down the track!

Been a week now. Do you still have no crunching? Mine stops crunching for a day or two no matter what oil I put in there.

How much did you pay for the tyres?

I thought redline was bad gearbox oil for hondas?!
Can't remember where I have heard it though, I think it might have been on CRSX.com

maxxis are only a relatively cheap tyre, but they are good bang for buck. they're not a 'cheap and nasty' tyre like some others on the market at the moment

Yeah man, one week, still as it was the day i put it in!
FYI, the car is a 2000 DC2R, bout 130,000 k's on it.
I bought it at bout 120 and it was crunching a little 1st to second, anyway, redline beats a gearbox rebuild!! :)

I got the tyres dirt cheap through someone who owed me a favour, so not really sure what you should expect to pay!!

Yeah man, i agree.
In my opinion, they are only relativevely cheap because they are not well known, compare them to the yoki ES100's i had previous to these and the MAXXIS still kick arse!

My mechanic recommended them, and one of the guys there is running an 11 second torana on them!

But you only had ES100's on the rear you said?

I've got them all round and they very good.

Yeah man, you have a point.
Don't get me wrong, i'm not knocking them, i am just wrapped with the MAXXIS's i was trying to find ES100's for the front when i bought them, it's just that yoki have discontinued them and i didn't want to mismatch tyres on the front and back!!
