im considernig buying a civic over this weekend (next two days)

ive been given the following price, not too sure if its worth it though:

$25,500 for civic auto vti (driveaway of course), incl tinted windows + matts and extended warranty

i think this is an awesome price as ive seen others here get it for around $26000 even...

anyway i was also offered the inclusion of the following (oem of course)

1) 15" alloy wheels
2) spoiler

for an extra $1000 (possiblity of no mats, not htat i really care for the mats anyway as i dont think they are worth "450" rrp anyway)

what do you guys think of the oem spoiler / 15" alloys at that price of $26500 altogether?

is it worth it or should i go elsewhere for the addons (considering price.. and look of course)

cheers for your input! first car buyer here!

isnt that the same as buying a VTi-L?

Like, 26990 (retail) plus on the roads...
I dunno wtf they are these days,

but 27K =
VTi +
5-speed automatic
$26,990*

6-CD stacker
Side airbags
Climate control
Alloy wheels

Dont bother with the tint and 15" alloys. I find the Honda tints to be crap. Go elsewhere like tint professor or tintacar to get it done. And for the alloys, save your money and go for some 17"s which probably would cost the same as the OEM 15"s or close. For $25,500 replace the tint with the spoiler. And for the mats, the last time i checked, they were around $175 for the full set.

I got my VTI-L manual at the end of the December for $26200 drive away with Honda Tint and mats. If you are in Melbourne, go Robert Lane and ask for Bob, I'm sure you can get the same deal too.

26.5k is a great deal with the alloys and spoiler i reckon. I got basically ordered the same package in dec as what ur getting offered (which i just picked up YESTERDAY!! :D )

-vti auto bluish silver
-mats
-tint
-spoiler
-15" alloys

-reverse parking sensors
-lock nuts set

all for $27100.
The extra parking sensors and lock nuts would hardly be worth more than the extra $600 premium I paid over the price your getting offered so its a great deal.

I do wish I hadnt gotten the 15" alloys and got aftermarket 16s tho.

If you want make the ultimate looking Civic for the best price, this is what you do.

Buy Black VTI with no extras except mats
Buy the mugen kit with wing(must) and grille
get some bronze wheels
tint

then you have the ultimate HONDA POWAAA! better looking than DC5R even.

check with 'Hondar'. He's a sponsor here and has a fair bit of gear for the new civic... mostly cosmetics.

thats a good price. i am getting the spoiler and 15" alloys. i would love bigger alloys but then you have to get new tyres as well and there goes another 800 bucks.
the civic looks great with the spoiler and i think to keep with factory alloys as better re-sale (honda buyers are not as advenurous as other brands hence the lack of range of good factory alloy options). unless you get REAL good deal on non-factory alloy.
that my 10 cents.

Get the mugen door visors. They really do add a very nice touch to the car and mugen claimed that it was designed to minimise wind resistant as well.

Thing with the alloys is you are just buying the alloys, so they rip out ur tyres out from your hubbies and pop them onto ur alloys. So unless your buying the honda alloys for the sake of keeping all OEM and holding a good resale value, it is more expensive because for bout the same price you can get 15" aftermarkets with nice tyres and keep all 5 of your wheels with their tyres.

Note: sum1 have done that ^_^

back to the topic... basically I think you better buy the basic model of the VTI (if you dont want the VTI-L), try to get bargain if you can from that... then use the "saved" money to start modifying... ^_^ (dont get OEM stuff, most of them are crap...)
