hello
im goin to be lowering my DC2 in a couple of weeks time. found a great price and they gave me 2 options.
a 35mm drop (1.4 inches)
a 50mm drop (2 inches) super lows.
just seeing if there are any views of how much a drop i should take to make it look clean.. with no regrets on my decision.
any help, past experience, pics, suggestions would be welcome.
theres no body kit. carrying 16inch white wheels. stock springs on.

For looks? 50mm.
I dropped my da9 50mm on 16s and I think it's perfect.
Beautiful 2 finger gap, nice and low enough with no chance of scrubbing.
For a compromise between longer stock shock life and looks, 35mm
If you're using stock shocks and drop the car too much, they won't last anywhere near as long as they should.
But also invest the $20 in a rear camber kit from whiteline (try pming egsi) to help prevent uneven tyre wear in the back, for either of these drops. Yeah it's $20 more and a little bit of labour, but it'll work out cheaper than either going back and getting them to do it later, or having to shell out for extra tyres.

it all depends on wat car, and size rims, i personally like 1.4inch. low but not 2 low to get around etc...

For a sports car with VERY well tuned suspension from factory at factory height, I would look at no further than 1.4". Your car is already very low so the 1.4" will be just right and practical at the same time.
Any lower will mean camber, accelerated wear and tear of all suspension components, decreased life of stock shocks, amongst others.
Note that pretty much any drop of stock shocks will mean accelerated wear.

Hey vkhaw!
i jus got my EK1 lowered 2 inches earlier this week... have attached pic even tho u drive a teggie...
2 inches looks hot! 1 finger gap at the front and bout 1cm of tuck in the back ridin' on 17s.
my only warning to you is that ride comfort will be much crapper. I got KMAC heavy duty springs, they are harder than most springs but should not sag.
i mean, the car can turn corners now like a crazy mofo now due to reduced body-roll, but on straight roads with even the smallest bumps, the car is pretty bouncy. should get new shocks :P
i would prob reconmend that if you get 1.5 inches, make sure they are progressive springs as the ride comfort and handling will be much better. 2inchs will look sick tho if u dun mind a bit of bumpiness...

I lowered my DC4 with superlows with 18's underneath it
Never got any scrubbing of tyres at all..and would very rarely bottom out anywhere...ride was still comfortable i thought but stiff enough to like corners :)
Heres a pic...i know not the best but i thought it sat really well

im ridin on 17's with 1.4inch drop... looks vs practicality...... i tink this option is best...
i have some serious driveways and no scrubbing.... i very happy with the turn out
Depends what you are out to achieve. 35mm is a good compromise and shouldn't cause too many issues with speed bumps, driveways etc. 50mm looks great, but just because the ride is stiffer doesn't mean it will handle better. It will also depend on the type of roads you drive on.
35mm FTW.

LOWER ~!
haha nah i reckon 35mm will be good - the thing is that you are getting king springs and in a short while it will begin to sag anyway
just be prepard to upgrade your other suspension parts aswel to compensate for the drop
imo look at eibach springs - prokit was designed to be used with oem shocks / sussy - drop is 1inch or abit more so its not the biggest drop - but definately quality springs that will imrpove handling aswell as give a more agressive look than stock
good luck
