well, i dont have an alarm in my car only the immbiliser

Does if flash when the car is armed with the immobiliser? Or maybe flash when you open the car without de-immobilising?

i have a red button under my dash i think its a kill switch for the alarm/immobilser i havent pressed mine yet wings might come out or sumthin lol

Do you have an aftermarket cruise control system installed? The type with steering wheel mounted buttons? If so, thats the receiver for those buttons.

Is it a button or a light? If its light then should be alarm/immobilisher related, if its a button then push and a brace yourself :p

go have a look in your car at night after you lock it. the purple thing prolly has an LED that flashes to keep the bad guys away (they are scared of LED's)

immobilizer light - if the immobilizer is still engaged where by being faulty or sum1 has had a go at it, it might come on or already be on while it is still engaged.

or like some others said could be wings, ejector seat

i vote both ejector seat and wings just to make things interestin transformers robots in disguise

yea well i wish it was an ignition light at night then i could see where the hole is to place my key instead of scratching the sides of it all the time. but i will see what it is at night and report back.
