View Full Version : heat shield for header

Just a simple question, why do ppl with bolt-on headers always leave the heat shield off? Is it difficult to re-attach the heat shield? or is it because we just like to show off our polished shiny header?

I thought the heat shield would be helpful in reducing engine bay temperature.

Thanks

if u didnt notice, the stock heatshield bolts onto the stock headers. aftermarket headers dont generally come with such mounts.

the stock headers are usually different size, so the heatshield wouldnt fit anyway.... unless you get an aftermarket heatshield :P

also sum cars got their stock heatshield welded on rather then bolted, but mainly its cuz its bigger then stock extractors
