yeah... happened about 3 years ago!

pretty damn impressive on a stockish motor!

but i'm sure alot more SOHC's have made it into the 400whp club within the past 3 years though!

did you read through the thread about it? they've ran it down the 1/4 mutiple times now... its managed to get real low 11's!

my guess is the way its tuned is why it held so well... plus the ARP headstuds and y8 headgasket...

these guys obviously have the money to repair it once it blows, i dont think average joe is willing to take this risk.

Haha here's a more recent one for you guys... Bit more work done to this engine but still impressive numbers (who says you need forged pistons)... Oh this one has a video aswell...

yeah but avg joe wont run 280kw atw in a civic, hell thats nissan teritory

but show avg joe, with a good tune, can run 200kw without any worries (and a bit of luck)

just shows FI isnt as bad as all the NA lovers make out to be.

thats very true! but each to there own...

i see FI as a bottomless pit... once you start, you just wanna go faster and faster= more and more money! where N/A is like that, but has its limit! you can only go so far.

plus FI introduces heating issues to the table when on a track for example.

i'm an N/A lover... but i do respect force fed because of the high figures they can throw out!

i like n/a and respect it more than turbo.
But i need boost.

Well u can get a bad batch of fuel causing detonation.
Or u might have a slight manufactoring error, which wont show during normal use, but when the rods are just on the limit, might let go.

basicly its just murphys law http://www.murphys-laws.com/

turtle: yeah i see what u mean, for the street, FI is heaps better bang for buck, get u more power per dollar. But i agree, on the track turbo is just another thing that can go wrong, introduces more heat etc etc etc. And i beleive you would also need a some coin to build a trackable reliable turbo civic.
