hey guys just wondering if you can use safc/safc II on all the different OBD versions. i have a dc4 1998 so i think its OBD2a??

als been hearing how the ecu will re learn and overwrite the safc tune? is this true, i havnet really heard a definate answer mostly just speculation, any clearing up of this would be great!! thanks!

Question 1 - Yes.
See below for pin outs to confirm your ECU type.
It may help you wire it in too.

Questions 2 - No.
Late model cars such as DC5 do not respond well with SAFC~VAFC
The long term fuel trims of the std ECU eventually over-ride changes made.
OBD1 & OBD2 are no problem.
If you car is Vtec, use VAFC II, no Vtec use SAFC
Tuning is similar & should cost the same.

Thanks a lot for that help Adrian!

so i will have no problem with an SAFC being overwritten by my stock ECU. only the newer ecu's in a dc5 will do so.

haha yeh i will do!.... i have got I/H/E and this is the next thing im looking at to jsut correct the af ratios since im running fairly rich.

also next on the list is a HD clutch and lightend flywheel. after all this i hope i can be putting down some decent power lol.

yes it will work, well should.. i had a vafc on a pr3 obd0 and it worked

vafc/safc same thing but no vtec control
