Soft Top Care (S2K)

hey all,

posting on behalf of a friend, just wondering what products people may have used on here for maintaining the colour of the soft top. my mates noticed it has started faiding slightly and was wondering what products are out there that people might use to maintain the look of the top. '

I used kitten interior protector which is suitable for use on vinyl which is what the soft top is made of and makes it look all shiney :)

best to use Aerospace 303 . Its comes highly reccomended by the US guys on S2ki for roof maintanance. You can get it from Bias boating centers . Check the whitepages for their locations around Sydney .

I am currently Using a water proofer spray. you can get them from any kmart bigW. keeps water from drying on your roof. works great

is the S2K roof actually considered vinyl or fabric?, the treatments are very different, i have been told that you must be careful what you use as not to effect the waterproof membrane, I looked up the aerospace 303, they do 2 kits for soft top rooves, one for vinyl and the other for fabric. the instructions on the Fabric kit advise not to be used on vinyl rooves and vice versa.

The roof is Vinyl ..... I use a vinyl cleaner that's isnt too bad, clean the roof when i clean the car. Also use the BMW plastic polisher for the back window

Its just the weave, but def vinyl. I think there thread somewhere that cover it.

Is it also a good idea to use a chamois when the roof gets wet to prevent it from air drying?

I use the 303 spray you should see the water bead off the roof it's amazing it's like theres an invisible alien that just throws the water back off the roof lol

You can buy the AeroSpace 303 from AutoBarns. Thats where I got it in melbourne.
Also when applying you will want to cover your wondows with fabric as the spray bottle is very misty and leaves residue on the windows, sort of oily like.
But it cleans and protects the roof, has UV protectant in it too..!!!
