I used flashtac from bunnings... $50 roll will do both front doors. Its a cheaper version of those damping material such as dynamat (which I think is seriously overpriced for what it is). The flashtac may not be as good as the dynamat, but out of $1500 or so I spent on car audio, this $50 roll is the best value for money in terms of audio quality improvement. Other thing you can try is to get a tube of automotive silicone and smear it on the plastic clips on the trim before putting them back on the panel...

The silicon will dry to a rubber like substance, it will act as a bushing for the trim against the body panel. They will not stick to anything other than silicons, so there is no problem getting it off later on. But u must use automotive silicon, not a bathroom sealant or stuff like that..

$150 of flashtac might do you all 4 doors (if you have sedan), the boot lid, boot floor and maybe a half of the interior floor :p

Flashtac might/will peel off or drop if stick on the vertical surface like door...

I use dynamat extreme and Flashtac on the floor of the boot for my previous car. Flash tac to make somr ribs and DE over it. Can check out my Coupe site.

flash tac won't fall of walls man. They use it in roofing don't they?? As a water proofing aid??

make sure you clean the surface properly before applying and you'll have no problem. I've had the flashtac on my doors for 2-3 years now and its still there... just get a can of grease and oil cleaner from repco or supercheap and clean the surface first..

I've read someone tested that dynamat is more heat resistant than flashtac.. but he's measuring the heat up until 250 deg c before the flashtac starts to melt and deteriorate.. dynamat can stand up to 275-280 deg I think. But seriously, if the weather heats up to that extent, my flashtac would be the last of my concerns...

I used alcohol to clean the area before I applied some foam tape. Makes a huge difference and its worked really well. Cheap fix as well!
