i would find it useful if i had to PM someone about something, without having to search for a thread that they've posted in just to find them.

if you remember the first few letters of their username,
you can type it in the username box,
and there'll be a drop-down showing the different members that start with those few letters..

Becoz sometimes i forget how to speel their names, and the names dont always drop down when u search for them and type in the first few letter.

It would just make life easier, like every other forum i know has one

yeah i always have to go for threads to look for people to find a thread they made or posted or to send them a pm
if everyones name was just listed somewhere in alphabetical order that would be cool :thumbsup:

I think this is the best way to go.

Memberlist was for disabled a long time ago so that other people don't use members email addresses as source for SPAM.

Users are already getting SPAMed by another Aussie based Honda forum. Funny how this other Honda site is the ONLY one to use our members email addresses (unauthorised of course) after email addresses were stolen last year.

if u want the spam mail just ask blkcrx on his lonely hondatatech forums roflez, i'm sure he'll gladly add you to the spam list. he might even give u free stickers as that's what he's resorted to to attracting noobs to the forum.

Maybe we could just post up user names, nothing else, i was just having alot of trouble finding someone when i suggested this, and it would have made life 5687x easier

The memberlist will NOT be posted up due to publicity/privacy (and I doubt anyone would have time to do up a list given we have over 10,000 users) :)

HOnestly......I don't see what the big problem is. As for the 'problem' with the existing method.......you need a minimum of 2 or 3 characters for it to come up first.

sorry, i thought u didnt coz u were talking about ppl writing it up. it seems to be a feature of the boards, so like one would have to type it up. It usually just links to ur profile, not really infringing on ppls privacy. Maybe you could link it to nothing, or send a pm.

I understand what your getting to, its not a really big problem, i dont mind. Its just that i when i made this thread, i couldnt find someones name and i was getting the shits hard... lol

Well AGES ago when the site was first setup (running phpbb) the memberlist was possible along with users' email addresses (those who didn't make them private). As a result atleast one other website used those email addresses to get some free publicity if you know what I mean.
