WTB section y0 !!!

But you will be looking at minimum 8-9k, maybe more.

Because theyre so rare, ppl jack up the prices.

And glass roof might be bad idea, cos if it cracks, gonna be very expensive to fix.

Glass roof's tend to be more expensive.
Better chance of finding a SiR without it.

Stock, I'd price at 10-11k.

And Yes, Chi's got a good point. Glass roof will be difficult to replace!

as a daily the glass roof wont bother u if ur not worried bout weight etc. but as mentioned, pray it doesnt brake.

buying an ef8 with a glass roof is like trying to find a needle in a haystack also premium prices and your looking at a car that will weigh in at 1010kg.
you will have better chance of finding an ef7 (si) with a glass roof 980kg.
a low k ef8 with glass roof freshly imported will cost anywhere from 11g-15g
while a ef7 will cost 7-10g
glass roof is cool but problems that do exist is the glass seal breaking due to chasis twist and general wear. also the glass can crack from chasis twist. so unless you are going to put chasis braces and strut bracing all over the car i do not see it being a worth while purchace.

also the roof is not actual glass it is more like perspex. it changes colour with heat.... gets darker the hoter it is and lightens (becomes more clear) when it cools down

the last siR i bought was 11k, with sprint hart cp's, low mileage and a glass roof in great condition. if your planning on some circuit work, plan not to get a glass roof model, but if its just your daily and want to enjoy it, then the glass roof is a great feature i think. ignore all the paranoid peeps about cracks and leaks etc. its very strong

Good clean examples are worth no more then 11. a rough one that needs work, dont pay anymore for 8500-9k for it.

Some come up for sale every now and then, im about to make my 2nd purchase this weekend if all goes well :D
just keep looking, and as for the one for sale in this forum, it is worth checking out.

mate any car is for sale at the rite price..lol, it just depends on how badly you want it.

i picked mine up for 10k 2yrs ago through j-spec, back in the when you could import them, but things have changed, so its pretty much whatever is available in the aust market now.

i assume you mean "you're misleading a potential CRX SiR owner", for the purpose of my post.

if you read chi's post carefully youd notice that he made no implication that the glass roof WOULD crack, but simply that if it DID crack, that it would be expensive to repair, which, very obviously, is correct. it would be an expensive thing to fix.

please engage your brain before posting next time.

Whatever you do just be carefull when buying one, go through the whole car inside out. Your bound to find a few things wrong with it which could lower the price of the car. Also don't forget to check for water leaks in the back windows, being 17-18 yrs old they tend to leak(also check the boot under spare tyre for water/rust). Good luck with your search for one, they are fun beaters and although they are so old they really don't feel it - Let us know how you go GL!!

Agreed!
If you want a beater, get a EG with a b16a. An EF8 is much more of a rarity to be called a 'beater'

I got mine ages ago... you can see them at www.turbohonda.com

I have not updated the site since 2001...

The turbo one now has 350HP at the wheels.. :D

YES they are hard to find now.... most people that have one will never sell it... why would you... there is nothing better....

yeh i got mine through j-spec. and yeh theres a fee of $1000. but its well worth it if you dont have your own contacts etc. also they do most of the paper work for you.

you give them a description of what you want..car,year,kms,colour,mods,condition etc and they try to find cars matching that discription.

i got about 5-6 crx's that were available everyday or two, so you can be picky.. and all the cars had mechanics reports etc or damages/condition.
