Hey guys, I'm really close to buying my first car. Been looking around and yeah found a CW DC4 with JDM Type R motor. It's currently running with no air con. I'm from Victoria and yeah, just wondering if I need air con to pass RWC. Also, do you need an engineered certificate to pass RWC. I just need the RWC to transfer it to my name. Thanks.

you wont need air con to pass rwc.

and i dont think you'll need an engineers certificate to pass RWC because its not like you're putting a turbo v8 into a dc4, you're just putting an engine with 45 more kw in.

is the car interstate?

Just make sure the VIN and ENGINE number match up.

yeah, he should have notified vicroads. Shouldnt be a problem as it is still a 1.8 and it is from an integra of the same model (DC2)

if vicroads doesn't know about it, am i still able to transfer to my name first then inform them?

yes, but if you run into trouble later on then you are stuck. best to sort it out before u transfer the car, then its one less thing to worry about.

get your friend to go into vicroads and advise them of the engine swap due to the old one blowin up and they will update the engine number on the spot for you.

Just bring a receipt of the engine from where your friend got it installed .

simple.
