keep in mind you'll need to budget extra for a fuel tank and fuel lines when doing a conversion an a carby model.

I actually had a look at a hatch as well yesterday, so i might have to ask you how yours is progressing :p

As for paint, i got quoted 1500 to do a whole car + my paint (about 600)
I have no idea about interior parts, i saw a dash for $50, seats would be maybe 150 for front....

PM the POV boys (barefoot) and ask one of them, they do heaps of conversions in civics

a b16a engine by itself would probably be around the $1500 mark
but then u need gear box, drive shafts, linkages, wiring harness, ecu
i'd say $2500 or about $3000-3500 for a half cut

a mate of mine could do all those parts together for 1500 , but damn i didnt think of fuel lines and fuel tank... i wonder how much the tank costs, prolly not much though

keep in mind you can not put an older engine in a younger chassis, newer engine in an older chassis is fine. Also with B16As there are 2 types, older cable clutch and newer hydraulic clutch, so see what kind you are running in your eg, don't know if you can convert your clutch from one to another but it will save you money if you don't
Older civics (91,92) are cable and newer (94,95) are hydraulic, someone back me up on this

all EG's are hydraulic.
the EF's/ED's are the cable clutch cars..

Just make sure you'll get everything for the b16a conversion... You don't want to waste time looking for other parts. In the end you'll end up spending more money looking for parts then buying a half-cut which has everything you need and anything you don't need you can sell off..
