Would i be able to check what the exact car is by checking the vin number of the engine as i want to check if this car is legit or not...
if so where would i check it
also would the vin number of a base model dc5 be the same as as a dc5r like the first couple letters?

usually, to see what model it is, you look at the first two letters and the number following that..
so it might be JHMDEK1....
hence the car is an EK1 - SOHC non vtec. that kinda thing.
edit: thanks rawr ;)
noo wait lmao.. like the vin number i had started with JHMD hahaha i derno bout the last couple ones.. what would a DC5R be?
JHMDDC5? but wouldnt that be the same as a base dc5?

base dc5 = JHMDC533********* whatver more * there are
DC5R = JHMDC539********* blah blah blah same as above
