installing footwell neons in a 2006 accord

my girlfriend has a 2006 accord the non-euro one.. she wants to install footwell neons and wire them up to the roof light so they turn on/off when you open the door. just wondering how hard this is to pull this off.. i dont have heaps of autoelectrical knowledge but i did manage to install footwell neons on my old FTO wired up to a switch. i had a look at the accord and i cant even find the wires around the footwell.. too much plastic in the way

well i have a 92 accord and to install the neons i just took off the door panels and connected it to the lights on the door, i'm not sure if your g/f's accord has lights down on the door or not... but yea i just shed back the plastic to reveal the wires and connected them but the way i've got it is so that only one neon turns on when i open the door on that side, i think that can be fixed if you put a wire from the neons to each other... hope that helps,
