Custom pistons?

Just wanting to know how hard is it to make custom pistons?

And what sort of info is needed?
Especially when building a hybrid engine
ie, (this is for example only) a B20 block with B16 heads
If I sent off both B20 and B16 pistons, could I get back a forged piston to work?

Well I am looking at CP pistons

But, them being so far from my engine/car the only choice is sending the OEM pistons down
But how would they know what CR and so on to make?

Well you have to tell them.
That's the way it is works with custom parts.
Are you building your engine or do you have an engine builder?
If you have an engine builder, let him sort it out. ;)

Charlie at GPC is building it
But I'm sourcing parts and info etc

ie. basically he is just assembling it while I get everything and figure out cams and so on

They'll probably need one of your std pistons.
Call them & tell the what you want to do.

CP Pistons have the B-Series 'hybrid' pistons shelf stocked.

Part numbers...
SC7020 - 9:1 compression ratio, standard bore size.
SC7017 - 9.7:1 compression ratio, standard bore size.
SC7117 - 11.5:1 compression ratio, standard bore size.
SC7120 - 12.5:1 compression ratio, standard bore size.

They are available in .020' and .040' oversize too, just slightly different part numbers. Standard bore size being 84mm.

All work with B16A, B18A, B18B and B18C heads.

Price shouldn't be anymore than $950 with rings.
